When you print the model would the color print all the way through or would it only be on the surface? I plan on using Agilus30, Tissue Matrix and Gel Matrix.
Will this work with multicolour vrml format so 3mf will have information about colour?

Hi, I'm new to blender. I wanted to find out how to export a VRML/VRML2 file and did what you have showed me. There is only one VRML export setting to tick: "Import-Export3D X3D/VRML2 format" it has no Blender logo on the right side, just a small "two people" symbol - similar to a "Friends" logo in Facebook. I closed the window and went to- file, export" and it's not there. restarted Blender, and still the same . The nearest one (what looks like) is "X3D Extendable 3D (x3d.)

How does the software handle intersecting STLs? If you don't do a boolean subtraction to your meshes in advance, what happens to the print? Does it have a hierarchy and assign a material priority? Or does it error out?
How does the program know how to assemble the individual STL files? I have a group of STL files that came from a model and had to be converted from OBJ files to STL files. The problem now is that I have to manually set the placement of each STL. Is there another way to import these files and keep the placement information intact?

I wish that you used an obj file with a material and textures. Also why doesn't GrabCAD print support 3MF for color?. I'm only here because Maya stopped supporting this format two years ago

Where did this feature go?? The latest update has a total loss of "Advanced FDM" features. The latest version is far too "dumbed down".
Hey Samuel! Advanced FDM is now automatically a part of GrabCAD Print. All the features that were only available in Advanced FDM projects are available for Print projects. Thanks for this tutorial. The sidewalls and edges look a bit wonky. Is there a way to keep them straight as in the original model?
BOIIE, thanks for the comment! Yes, the side walls and edges bowed out because I left them default white/gray in the bump mapping black-and-white screen (you see it at 5:49 in the video), and so they got pushed out as well, since the lighter the color is, the more it gets bumped/displaced. I've learned in later prints that if you REALLY want to keep areas from moving, I should have covered those areas in a perfect black (like a 0,0,0 RGB) and then they wouldn't have moved. It's not too bad to do layers like that in Photoshop, and if you really need to keep an area straight, I would probably do that in my later prints, if I was printing this again for a demanding customer. @@shuvomghose4219 Thanks for the reply. I got a trial version of the PS and cant get it to work. When I add a new 3D layer I get the message “The UVs on this 3D scene are missing or invalid. You may have issues painting on this scene or simplifying it. To fix this problem, Select ‘Generate UVs …” I dont know if thats critical. After that I dont have the Diffuse layer. So now I´m stuck. Do you know what I could do?
@@B0IIE , this might be getting too complex for youtube comments, remember you can always email me at shuvom@grabcad.com. But what's happening is you've imported an STL with no UV mapping, as it says. So there's nothing to show you on the Diffuse layer. I use a $60 program called Ultimate Unwrap3D to generate great UV maps for my STLs (see step 4 of my tutorial here: grabcad.com/tutorials/how-to-control-the-transparency-of-your-3d-printed-parts-the-hardest-task-yet). If you send me your STL I can generate a good UV map and send you back an OBJ, to show you what Ultimate Unwrap does. There are other programs that can repair UV mapping, like Rhino or Maya, but they cost a lot more. I could also send you a sample OBJ file with good UV mapping for you to do your test. But the error in Photoshop is a common one, when working with STLs that haven't been repaired/properly UV mapped.
